The Role & Candidate:
Glanua Ltd is a progressive organisation in the water and wastewater industry. Due to continued success in the Business, the company is expanding with several dynamic and exciting roles. They seek a BIM Manager for large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role will be split between the site and the office based in Loughrea.
The BIM Manager's primary focus is overseeing and managing Digital Project Delivery operations across our Irish project portfolio. The ideal candidate will lead digital implementation, ensure adherence to industry standards, coordinate project teams, and support digital delivery-related work pricing. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of BIM, digital information management, project delivery, and commercial operations.

Digital Project Delivery & BIM:
BIM Implementation: Oversee the adoption of Digital Tools and technologies across all regional projects.
Standardisation: Develop and enforce Digital Project Delivery, BIM, and Information management standards. Offer guidance and best practices to ensure consistency and quality.
Coordination: Oversee the coordination of digital project execution, ensuring accurate, consistent and timely information sharing across the UK.
Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks and audits on projects to ensure they meet client expectations and industry best practices.
Proactively Identify and mitigate digital project delivery risks and challenges.
Team Leadership:
Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of Digital Delivery coordinators and specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
Training: Ensure delivery of training programs for project teams on BIM processes and tools.
Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment among project teams, promoting effective communication and information sharing.
Promote the use of data-driven decision-making for performance optimisation.
Project Support:
Establish and maintain our Digital strategy, ensuring it meets international standards and achieves our client requirements.
Project Coordination: Support Glanua project teams in planning and coordinating BIM activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any BIM-related issues or challenges during project execution.
Technical Support: Support project teams on BIM software and tools.
Develop strategies for leveraging BIM data for asset management and maintenance planning.
Support the integration of BIM data with other digital systems and platforms.
Pricing and Cost Management:
Identify and quantify the commercial benefits of digital project delivery and BIM.
Collaboratively work with your digital lead and commercial teams to develop digital-based value propositions for clients
Pricing Work: Assist in pricing Digital Project Delivery Requirements and associated BIM-design work, including preparing cost estimates and budgets.
Resource Allocation: Manage the allocation of resources for digital delivery on projects, ensuring efficient use of personnel and technology.
Cost Control: Monitor and control BIM-related costs, ensuring projects stay within budget.
Workflow and Permissions Management:
Workflow Setup: Develop and implement efficient workflows for BIM processes, including model reviews and approvals.
Review Processes: Coordinate and manage the BIM model review process, ensuring timely feedback and approvals.
Permission Assignment: Assign appropriate access permissions to users within the BIM management system, ensuring data security and compliance.
Data Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with the BIM management system's data management policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
The prior knowledge, skills and experience required of the BIM Manager are outlined as follows:
Proven track record in delivering projects digitally, preferably in the Water or Wastewater sector.
Proven track record in managing teams of people.
A third-level Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Construction Management qualification or a proven technical background is essential.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in digital projects, with at least three years in a leadership role.
Experience in estimating resource requirements is desirable.
Experience in pricing Digital / BIM delivery.
Experience setting up and managing BIM360 /ACC is desirable.
Advanced skills in any/all the following are preferable: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk Revit, Dynamo, Plant 3D, Synchro 4D or Navisworks.
Experience in MS Excel, Power BI, Dynamo and BIM/ACC 360 are desired but not essential as training can be provided.
Must be an enthusiastic, motivated self-starter dedicated to learning and advancing their career in the Digital Engineering space.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.
Understanding the relevant Digital/BIM standards (ISO19650 or previously PAS1192) is desired but not essential.
