We're looking for an SAP MDG Technical Architect to join our team in Portugal in a remote working mode. In this role, you will lead the technical design, implementation, and integration of SAP MDG solutions for material master governance. You will bridge functional requirements and technical realization, ensuring clean core compliance, robust data governance, and seamless integration across enterprise systems. Responsibilities

Translate functional specifications into SAP MDG technical architecture for material master data
- Oversee end-to-end MDG solution delivery, including configuration, data modeling, workflow, BRF+ rules, and technical enhancements
- Define and implement Change Request processes for material master data aligned with governance standards
- Maintain technical quality, stability, and scalability while minimizing customizations
- Collaborate with functional SMEs to refine requirements and align business and IT objectives
- Drive technical design decisions within design authority forums and advocate SAP best practices for integration and governance
- Implement integration solutions between SAP MDG and SAP/non-SAP systems via BTP, middleware, APIs, and IDocs
- Guide data migration and harmonization strategies ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Apply data quality and analytics tools, including AI-based validation for material master data
- Ensure compliance with data security and regulatory requirements across SAP and cloud environments
- Support testing phases, troubleshoot issues, and lead defect resolution to meet quality standards
- Develop and deliver training content to improve user adoption and knowledge transfer
Requirements

Proven experience as SAP MDG Technical Architect with strong focus on the Material Master domain
- In-depth knowledge of SAP MDG configuration and customization, including data modeling and extensions
- Expertise in workflow design, BRF+ rules, and governance process setup
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA integration (on-premise, cloud, or hybrid)
- Experience with SAP BTP for integration, extensibility, and analytics
- Proficiency in ABAP development for enhancements related to MDG
- Hands-on experience with DCR configuration, data migration, and harmonization techniques
- Solid understanding of master data security, compliance, and auditability in hybrid cloud architectures
- Knowledge in designing integrations using APIs, IDocs, middleware tools (SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI)
