We're looking for an SAP FICO Architect to join our team in Portugal in a remote working mode. In this role, you will lead the financial architecture design and governance for SAP S/4HANA, ensuring alignment with business requirements and transformation roadmaps. You will engage in pre-sales and implementation phases, define Record-to-Report (R2R) strategies, and introduce innovations that enhance financial processes while maintaining compliance with SAP best practices. This position offers the opportunity to influence global finance modernization initiatives and deliver scalable architectural solutions for enterprise clients.
Responsibilities

Run SAP pre-sales and project governance activities, including requirements analysis, fit-gap assessments, and solution design
- Define and integrate business, data, application, and technical architecture domains for the R2R process
- Support architecture governance and promote consistency across finance and controlling landscapes
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop functional requirements for financial processes
- Lead the development of R2R target architectures and SAP implementation roadmaps
- Engage in customer discovery sessions, supporting EPAM sales teams during solution scoping
- Identify and address solution gaps, ensuring effective technical configuration and deployment strategies
- Stay up to date on SAP portfolio capabilities and R2R industry trends to introduce innovation
- Estimate effort related to SAP R2R design, configuration, and process optimization activities
- Ensure methodologies and standards are applied consistently across architecture and implementation workstreams
Requirements

Proven expertise in SAP FICO architecture and R2R process design
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling modules
- Experience in SAP Activate methodology and finance transformation projects
- Ability to identify business and solution gaps and develop mitigation strategies
- Knowledge of cost allocation methods, fast financial closing approaches, and budgeting processes
- Strong communication and governance skills to engage both business and IT teams effectively
Nice to have

Familiarity with SAP CFin, PaPM, BPC, IBP, and logistics integration
- Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS principles and their impact on SAP financial processes
- Understanding of SAP deployment options (Public and Private Cloud)
- Exposure to frameworks like PMP, TOGAF, and SAP Design Thinking
- Experience in pre-sales processes and IT service sales support
