We're looking for an experienced OT/SCADA Engineer (automation engineers are also welcome) to join our IT/OT team and help shape the digital backbone of our client's renewable assets in Portugal — hydro dams, wind farms, and battery storage systems.
This is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary role where you'll work across OT and IT infrastructure projects, system administration, cybersecurity, and emerging topics such as AI applied to industrial data. You will play a key role in modernizing legacy networks, raising cybersecurity maturity, and ensuring the reliability of systems that directly support the energy transition.
If you come from a SCADA or automation background and want to broaden your scope into IT, networking, and cyber — while keeping one foot firmly in the industrial world — this role is built for you.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead OT/IT infrastructure planning and project implementation (IT and OT)
- Drive the modernization of legacy industrial networks toward robust, segmented, and secure architectures
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- Help align infrastructure architecture with cybersecurity guidelines or best practices
- Oversee communication with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Be responsible for troubleshooting network, hardware and software issues
- Be part of design and implementation of processes for ensuring efficient IT operations in an organization
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to identify their requirement and ensure their needs are met
What you need to be successful
- +10 years of working experience with OT or IT administration
- Experience with networking (firewalls, routers, switches)
- Experience with fundamentals of cybersecurity
- Experience with Windows and Linux administration
- Experience with virtual machines
It's an advantage to have:
- Degree in a relevant subject (Computer science or computing engineering)
- Experience as SCADA Engineer or in automation (platforms like Wonderware/AVEVA, PcVue, Ignition)
- Exposure to OT cybersecurity tools (Claroty, Nozomi, Tenable OT)
- Experience with project management
- Experience with network monitoring software
- Experience with programming languages or scripting
- Experience with industrial protocols (Modbus, IEC 60870-5-104, OPC UA)
- Familiarity with NIS2
Competencies needed:
- You are a versatile professional, comfortable working across multiple technical domains
- You are pro-active, result oriented and have a strong sense of responsibility
- You succeed as part of a team and it comes naturally to you to collaborate and share knowledge
- Generalist mindset with the curiosity to go deep when needed
- You have good communication skills and are fluent in English (speaking and writing)
- Last, but not least, you must be able to work within an international team
What we'll hook you up with:
- Opportunity to join a reference business group with a strong international presence
- Training programs through the internal training academy and partner entities
- Possibility to work in a hybrid regime
