We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and qualified English as Second Language Teacher to join our Junior School team. In our bilingual model, you will act as the English Homeroom Teacher, delivering high-quality English language and literacy instruction.
- Deliver Lessons: Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging ESL lessons focused on phonics, reading, writing, and speaking.
- Differentiate Learning: Adapt teaching materials effectively to support students with varying levels of English proficiency.
- Assess Progress: Use formative and summative assessments to monitor language acquisition and track student progress.
- Manage Classroom: Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive room environment that supports student well-being.
- Collaborate Daily: Partner with the Portuguese Homeroom teacher to co-manage class routines and student welfare.
- Communicate Openly: Maintain proactiv, clear, and professional communication with parents regarding student achievement.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Certification: Internationally recognized teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE) or specialized ESL certification.
- Languages: Native-level or near-native English fluency (minimum C2 level) with strong communication skills.
- Experience: Proven experience teaching English to young learners, ideally within an international or bilingual school.
- Mindset: Tech-savvy approach, strong multicultural awareness, and a deep commitment to child safeguarding.
