About the role
Acolad is building a governed Data Operating System for the Group. We are moving from scattered reporting toward fewer, better, trusted, auditable data products that executives can make decisions on. The Data and AI function owns the canonical datasets, the KPI registry, the executive dashboards, and the governance standards that make our numbers defensible at board level.
We are hiring a hands-on Team Lead to own this surface end to end. You will lead the analytics squad that models data in Snowflake, builds executive dashboards in Tableau, and governs how KPIs are defined, certified, and consumed across Finance, Sales, Operations, and client delivery. This is a player and coach role. You will set the standard by doing the work, raise the team by coaching it, and earn trust by being the person stakeholders can rely on to keep them informed and unblocked.
This is not a dashboard factory. The mandate is to make our data decision grade: defined before it is built, owned by the right business function, reproducible, and trusted by the people who run the company.
Key Responsibilities
Snowflake modelling. Design and maintain the canonical, certified data models that feed executive and operational reporting. You own data quality, lineage, reproducibility, and the path toward one official surface per domain.
Tableau executive dashboards. Deliver clean, fast, decision-grade dashboards for the CEO, CFO, CRO, and the Executive Committee. Snowflake computes the KPIs. Tableau displays them. You hold that line.
KPI governance. Run the KPI registry as the single source of truth for metric definitions. No definition, no build. You ensure metrics are signed off by the accountable business owner before work begins.
Intake and prioritization. Own the demand pipeline. Decompose bundled requests, qualify them against clear definitions and ownership, and prioritize against capacity. Keep requesters informed on status and timelines so that even a no lands with context and respect. You protect delivery from scope creep, and you do it without leaving people in the dark.
Stakeholder management. Operate as a trusted, responsive partner to Finance, Sales Operations, Account Management, and the Executive Committee. You are the first point of contact for a high volume of data requests, and you treat every request with care, even when the answer is “not yet” or “not this way”. Translate business questions into governed data products, and translate data constraints into clear business language.
Quality assurance. Establish and enforce testing, reconciliation, and validation standards so that what we publish is auditable and correct. You treat a wrong number in front of an executive as a critical incident.
Data governance. Apply and extend data contracts, certification standards, access and license policies, and dashboard rationalization. You reduce sprawl and increase trust.
Coaching and team leadership. Lead a small analytics team. Set technical standards, review work, build knowledge redundancy so no system depends on a single person, and grow the capability of each analyst.
Requirements
Proven experience leading a BI or analytics team, as a hands-on lead who still builds, reviews, and ships.
A career path through both data analysis and data engineering. You have been the analyst answering the business question, and you have been the engineer building the pipeline behind it.
A track record of delivering executive-grade reporting that decision-makers actually trust and use.
Experience setting standards for data quality, governance, and KPI definition in an organization with competing demands.
A service-oriented approach to stakeholder work. You have managed high request volumes while keeping people informed, building trust through responsiveness and follow-through rather than just delivery.
Snowflake. Deep, hands-on expertise in data modelling, performance, and certified dataset design.
Tableau. Expert-level dashboard design and delivery for senior audiences, with attention to performance and clarity.
SAP. Solid working knowledge of SAP as a source system for financial and operational data, including the realities of extracting and reconciling it.
SQL and data transformation. Strong SQL, with experience in modern transformation and pipeline practices.
Python and data engineering . Hands-on Python for data pipeline development, automation, and transformation. You have built and maintained production-grade ETL/ELT workflows and are comfortable working across scheduling, orchestration, and code-quality practices in a data engineering context.
Our daily stack. Comfort across the broader tooling landscape the team relies on for ingestion, transformation, orchestration, version control, and documentation. You learn new tools quickly and pragmatically.
Benefits
Ownership of a high-visibility surface that the Executive Committee depends on.
A mandate to build the standard, not to maintain legacy reporting.
A remote-first setup based in Portugal, within a global Data and AI function.
The chance to shape how a large international group governs and trusts its data.
