We are looking for a Senior Cloud Enterprise Architect to provide strategic oversight and governance for cloud solutions within a complex international banking environment.
Rather than focusing on daily coding or infrastructure provisioning, you will ensure that cloud proposals align with enterprise architecture standards, security policies, regulatory requirements, data-sovereignty rules, and long-term business objectives.
You will act as a bridge between enterprise strategy and technical design, advising development teams, reviewing solution architectures, defining reusable standards, and influencing cloud, API, DevOps, data, and emerging-technology roadmaps.
Strategy and Governance
-
Execute the cloud portfolio roadmap in alignment with business and technology objectives;
-
Establish architectural guardrails for cloud adoption;
-
Promote compliance with data-residency, security, and regulatory requirements;
-
Contribute to cloud-security, Secure Development Lifecycle, compliance, and cost-management policies;
-
Review internally and externally hosted cloud applications;
-
Assess architectural maturity, technical risk, and migration readiness;
-
Support cloud migration and modernisation roadmaps;
-
Monitor risks, dependencies, costs, and architectural compliance across the cloud portfolio.
Architecture and Technical Advisory
-
Define architectural blueprints, reference architectures, design patterns, and reusable frameworks;
-
Advise engineering teams on cloud-native design, microservices, APIs, DevOps, data analytics, and AI/ML integration;
-
Guide the use of containers and Infrastructure as Code;
-
Review proposed solutions for scalability, resilience, security, interoperability, and operational sustainability;
-
Support the validation of emerging technologies through proofs of concept;
-
Collaborate with internal teams, technology partners, fintechs, and vendors;
-
Perform gap analyses, technical assessments, and Total Cost of Ownership evaluations.
Stakeholder Management
-
Translate enterprise strategy into clear architectural direction;
-
Present recommendations, risks, and progress to senior technology and business stakeholders;
-
Participate in architecture, API governance, AI ethics, cloud, and technology committees;
-
Build alignment across Architecture, Engineering, Security, Risk, Compliance, Data, and Business teams;
-
Mentor colleagues and promote architecture knowledge sharing.
-
At least five years of experience designing, migrating, or operating production workloads on a major cloud platform;
-
Strong experience in enterprise, solution, software, or systems architecture;
-
Practical experience with at least one of the following: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or IBM Cloud;
-

Understanding of technology-risk and cloud-governance frameworks;
-
Ability to perform gap analysis and Total Cost of Ownership assessments;
-
