Role Overview:
As Senior Delivery Manager, you'll own delivery governance and the PMO across our portfolio of programs. You'll set standards, build and lead a team of program/delivery managers, and ensure our most important initiatives land — predictably and at quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead the PMO: delivery standards, governance, and ways of working across the portfolio.
- Oversee delivery of multiple concurrent programs, ensuring alignment to strategy and outcomes.
- Build, lead, and mentor a team of program and delivery managers.
- Define and report portfolio-level metrics, health, risks, and dependencies to leadership.
- Drive resource and capacity planning across programs and teams.
- Partner with engineering, product, and executive leadership on prioritisation and trade-offs.
- Continuously improve delivery maturity, tooling, and predictability across the organisation.
- Manage executive and (where relevant) customer stakeholder communication for major initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 14–15 years in delivery management / PMO leadership within software or technology organisations.
- Proven experience building or leading a PMO and managing a portfolio of complex programs.
- Track record leading and growing teams of program/delivery managers.
- Deep expertise in delivery governance, agile at scale, risk, and capacity management.
- Outstanding executive stakeholder management and communication.
- Strong understanding of modern software delivery (cloud-native, CI/CD, distributed teams).
- Comfortable operating at senior leadership level in a high-growth environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Senior certifications (PMP, PgMP, SAFe Program Consultant, PRINCE2 Practitioner).
- Experience scaling delivery functions through periods of rapid growth.
- Familiarity with portfolio and delivery tooling (Jira, Linear, portfolio management platforms).
- Background in product-based or enterprise software companies.
Technology Environment:
You'll lead delivery for teams building on Java, Spring Boot, React, Next.js, Kubernetes, and multi-cloud infrastructure. Fluency in how modern cloud-native software is built and shipped is what makes your governance credible and effective.
Success Measures (First 12 Months):
- Month 3: A clear assessment of current delivery maturity and a roadmap to strengthen it.
- Month 6: PMO standards and governance in place; improved portfolio visibility and predictability.
- Month 12: A well-functioning PMO and delivery team, with measurable gains in on-time, on-quality delivery across the portfolio.
Career Growth Opportunities:
This is a senior leadership position with a path toward Head/Director of Delivery or VP-level roles as the company scales. We support executive development and advancement tied to organisational impact.
