Our client operates in the area of digital media, where your code directly supports the freedom of information for millions of monthly users.
In this role you will join an agile engineering team, while reporting to the Head of Engineering and act as the technical leader of the other engineers on the team.
In this project you'll have the opportunity to work with dozens of microservices, infrastructure prepared for traffic peaks during major current events, and a strong commitment to open source.
What you will do:
- Technical leadership in high-impact web initiatives
- Design and implementation of critical web features
- Definition and execution of the long-term web architecture
- Raising the technical standard: code reviews, design reviews, testing culture
- Instrumentation and observability: metrics, structured logging, dashboards
- Participation in on-call rotations (with team support)
- Leading post-mortems and reducing MTTR
- Technical coordination with the other engineers and with Engineering leadership
- Promotion of the productive and responsible use of AI tools within the team
What we're looking for:
We are looking for a Fullstack Engineer with technical autonomy, the ability to identify what needs to be done, and the experience to decide how to do it.
- 5+ years of experience in web development, ideally using React and/or Vue
- Experience as a technical leader or main contributor in modern web projects, using patterns of separation between the presentation layer and data sources
- Solid Knowledge of API Design - REST as a foundation, GraphQL or Backend-for-Frontend patterns are valued
- Core Web Vitals, render strategies (SSR/SSG/ISR), cache at the edge
- Experience with observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, structured logging, error tracking
- Experience with WordPress, technical SEO and Web Analytics is valued
- Ability to identify problems and act without waiting for assignment
- Pragmatism: you make decisions with clear trade-offs instead of looking for perfect solutions
- We value experience and technical reasoning more than exact match with the stack,
- Availability for on-call rotations
