COBOL Developer
This is your mission
Are you passionate about maintaining and modernizing critical legacy systems in the financial services space? Then this position is for you.
As a COBOL Developer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving a high‑volume transaction processing platform, ensuring reliability, security, and performance in a complex ecosystem.
Build side:
Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and high‑quality COBOL code
Analyze existing modules using AI‑assisted tools to understand logic and dependencies
Refactor legacy components while preserving critical business logic
Identify impacted components and design robust solutions
Develop and maintain unit and integration test suites
Contribute to test automation and integration within CI/CD pipelines
Collaborate closely with business analysts and QA teams to ensure functional alignment
Run side:
Ensure smooth operation of the ABS platform handling millions of daily transactions
Support production activities and resolve incidents efficiently
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and quarterly planning
Improve system monitoring, performance, and reliability
Promote the adoption of modern technologies (AI-driven validation, DevOps practices)
Maintain documentation and ensure version control best practices
Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards
Continuously identify optimization opportunities in legacy processes
This is your background
You have at least 4 years of experience in demanding IT environments, ideally within financial services or mission‑critical systems. You enjoy working on legacy technologies while introducing modern improvements and are constantly innovating. You are looking for an environment where your ideas matter and where technology goes hand in hand with collaboration.

You have solid experience working in structured environments with complex systems and high data volumes. You are motivated to grow into a key contributor for system modernization, bridging legacy systems with modern engineering practices, and potentially evolving toward senior or lead roles in legacy transformation and DevOps adoption.
This is your expertise:
Micro Focus COBOL (high proficiency)
Legacy system architecture and transaction processing systems
DevOps tools (e.g., Ansible, Toolchain) and Git version control
CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices
AI-assisted code analysis and refactoring tools
PowerHouse (4GL) and/or Eloquence (Marxmeier) (nice to have)
Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe)
Monitoring and performance optimization tools
