Join our Engineering Computing Services team as an IT Security Architect, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the security of our Linux infrastructure. Imagine being the subject matter expert who designs robust security architectures, proactively manages threats, and automates compliance solutions. You will engage deeply with Linux systems, ensuring their security posture is fortified against evolving risks. Your expertise will not only protect critical assets but also contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- You will lead the enhancement of security architecture for Linux-based systems, ensuring they are robustly secured against threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement proactive threat and vulnerability management strategies.
- Develop and automate security solutions that scale, protecting our data center services environment.
- Analyze logs, configurations, and network traffic to identify and mitigate potential security issues.
- Take ownership of security initiatives, ensuring compliance and ethical conduct in all practices.
What You Bring
- You have 5-10 years of hands-on experience in a Linux-focused security role, demonstrating deep knowledge of Linux internals and security hardening techniques.
- Proficiency in scripting with Bash and Python, with experience in automation tools like Ansible.
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as Azure and AWS, particularly in securing Linux systems.
- A proactive mindset with a keen eye for detail, allowing you to analyze and solve complex security challenges effectively.
- Relevant certifications such as RHCE, LPIC-3 Security, or CISSP are a plus.
