As a Junior Protection and Control Engineer, you will join the Generation and Electrical Networks team, becoming part of the protection engineering team focused on hydroelectric generation projects. You will be involved in the full engineering lifecycle, from electrical studies to on-site commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare electrical studies (short-circuit, protection coordination) using tools such as ETAP.
Perform calculation and setting of electrical protections in generation environments.
Develop and review electrical diagrams, protection logics, and trip matrices.
Prepare technical setting reports and engineering documentation.
Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and on-site commissioning activities.
Analyze events and support the resolution of incidents in protection systems.
Coordinate with engineering and site teams throughout project development.
Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Basic knowledge of power systems and electrical protection.
At least 1 year of experience with ETAP or other electrical simulation tools.
Ability to interpret single-line and detailed electrical diagrams.
Knowledge of protection relays, relay testing equipment, or protection settings is a plus.
Previous exposure to substations or generation projects (internship or junior experience) is valued.
Strong interest in developing a career in electrical protection systems.
Fluent in Portuguese & English; Spanish is a plus.
Availability for national travel to support on-site commissioning activities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive attitude and good organizational abilities.
