We are looking for a Senior Data Architect to lead strategic Data Governance and Data Quality initiatives within a large, complex organisation.
You will define governance frameworks, operating models, standards, policies, quality controls, and adoption strategies across modern data platforms. The role combines data architecture expertise with stakeholder engagement, organisational transformation, and hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, cloud ecosystems, and modern analytical architectures.
Data Governance and Data Quality Frameworks

Define, document, and continuously evolve Data Governance and Data Quality frameworks;

Establish policies, standards, processes, guidelines, patterns, and implementation best practices;

Ensure alignment between governance initiatives and the organisation’s broader data strategy;
-
Define roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes across Data Owners, Data Stewards, technical teams, and business areas;

Design Data Governance operating models suitable for a large organisation.
Data Quality Strategy

Define Data Quality methodologies, dimensions, rules, metrics, and KPIs;
-
Establish monitoring processes for identifying, tracking, and resolving data-quality issues;
-
Create mechanisms to measure the maturity, adoption, and effectiveness of governance practices;
-
Produce reports, analyses, and recommendations for continuous improvement;
-
Promote consistent Data Quality controls across different platforms and teams.
Data Management and Architecture
-
Define and support Data Ownership and Data Stewardship processes;
-
Develop and evolve Business Glossaries and Data Catalogues;
-
Establish standards for Data Lineage and metadata management;
-
Provide governance guidance across Data Lakes, Lakehouses, NoSQL platforms, and analytical environments;
-
Define governance and management approaches for Microsoft Fabric and Databricks;
-
Support governance across Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform environments.
Strategic Initiatives and Adoption
-
Plan and execute strategic Data Governance and Data Quality initiatives;
-
Lead activities from requirements definition and solution design through implementation, adoption, and results monitoring;

Guide multidisciplinary teams and promote consistent governance practices;
-
Develop training materials, guidelines, and enablement sessions;
-
Engage technical and business stakeholders to drive alignment and organisational adoption;
-
Support strategic transformation programmes involving data, privacy, quality, and operating-model evolution.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Management, or a related field;

Strong knowledge of Data Governance and Data Quality practices, frameworks, and processes;
-
Practical experience with Data Ownership and Data Stewardship;
-
Experience developing Business Glossaries and Data Catalogues;
-
Experience with Data Lineage and Data Quality processes;
-
Hands-on knowledge of Data Governance or Data Quality tools;
-
Up-to-date understanding of databases and analytical technologies;
-
Knowledge of Data Lake, Lakehouse, and NoSQL architectures;
-
Experience with at least one major cloud platform: Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform;
-
Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric;
-
Proven experience with Databricks;
-
Understanding of the governance and data-management capabilities of Microsoft Fabric and Databricks;

Ability to define Data Governance standards, solutions, and operating models;

Experience guiding teams and driving organisational adoption;

Strong written and verbal communication skills;

Ability to engage technical and business stakeholders;

Experience working in multidisciplinary, collaborative, or global teams;

Strong commitment to delivery quality;

Fluent written and spoken Portuguese;

The ideal candidate is a senior Data Architect or Data Governance professional who can combine strategic vision with practical implementation experience.
You understand how to turn governance principles into effective operating models, standards, ownership structures, catalogues, glossaries, lineage processes, quality controls, and measurable outcomes. You are comfortable working across Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, cloud platforms, Lakehouse architectures, and enterprise data ecosystems.
You communicate clearly, influence stakeholders, and align technical and business teams around shared objectives. You are analytical, autonomous, proactive, and able to lead initiatives in multicultural and distributed environments while maintaining a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement.
