About the role
We are looking for a Compliance Graduate in Lisbon as part of Leonteq’s twelve-month Graduate Program to support the Central/ Financial Crime Compliance Team.
This role requires an individual with strong organizational and analytical skills, innovative ideas and a proactive and solution orientated mindset. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Central Compliance/ FCC team in Lisbon and Zurich, as well as with Local Compliance Officers/MLROs across Leonteq’s global offices.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Compliance while working in a dynamic, international environment.

What you'll do
- Perform and support ongoing compliance screenings (sanctions, PEP, adverse/negative media) ensuring timely assessment and escalation/ follow-up of new and updated hits.
- Support periodic and ad-hoc reviews of existing counterparties, including the review of counterparty information, corporate documentation and media screening;
- Support with identification of missing, outdated or inconsistent information and following up with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure escalation of any potential financial crime, reputational or regulatory concerns to Central Compliance Lisbon and Global Team Heads.
- Maintain impeccable, complete, and comprehensive documentation (audit-proof) and organized/accurate compliance records and tracking logs to monitor outstanding actions to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks;
- Assist with ad-hoc compliance administrative tasks, working collaboratively with the management and any relevant internal stakeholders
What you'll need
- A university degree, preferably in law, finance, economics, business, criminology or another relevant subject;
- A genuine interest in compliance, financial services regulation and financial crime prevention;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues across different teams, functions and international locations;
- Professional fluency in English (Fluency in Portuguese is a plus);
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify missing, inconsistent or unusual information;
