Job Family Definition:
Responsible for providing technical support and/or leadership in the creation and delivery of technology solutions designed to meet a customer’s business needs. Creates and maintains effective customer relationships to secure customer satisfaction. Provides the deepest level of product- and technology-specific expertise available to customers from anyone in the sales organization in deal pursuit situations. Aligned to specific products or product-lines.
The Consulting Systems Engineer is also a subject matter expert in their area of specialization (i.e., Mobility, Security, Branch, etc), responsible for consulting customers on end to end technical designs to meet their business need.
These jobs focus on selling to customers, typically through work that occurs outside HPE offices.
Management Level Definition:
Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.
Key Responsabilities:
Technical Pre-Sales Support

Partner with account teams to understand customer business and technical requirements.

Design scalable, high-performance data centre network solutions for enterprise and data center for AI using HPE Juniper Networking technologies (e.g., Apstra, QFX, PTX, EX, SRX).

Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and demonstrations to customers and partners.
-
Lead technical discovery sessions and translate requirements into solution architectures.
Solution Design & Architecture

Develop data centre architectures based on: Spine-leaf topology / EVPN-VXLAN overlays / IP Fabric designs / Networking for AI data center

Create high-level and support for low-level design documentation (HLD/LLD).

Integrate networking with HPE compute, storage, and cloud platforms
Proof of Concept (PoC) & Demonstrations

Build and execute PoCs showcasing HPE Juniper Networking solutions.

Demonstrate features like automation, intent-based networking, and telemetry based on Apstra
-
Validate interoperability with third-party ecosystems.
Sales Engagement
-
Support RFP/RFI responses, including technical proposals and solution validation.

Assist in building business cases and ROI justifications.
Automation & Innovation

Promote network automation and programmability

Demonstrate HPE Networking Apstra capabilities for intent-based networking and automation.

Advocate for DevOps practices in networking environments.
Customer & Partner Engagement

Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and partners.

Provide guidance on best practices for data centre design and operations.

Deliver training or knowledge-transfer sessions when required.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise

Strong knowledge of data centre networking technologies: EVPN-VXLAN / BGP (including EVPN control plane) / OSPF / IS-IS / MPLS (desirable)

Hands-on experience with HPE Juniper Networking platforms: QFX Series (data centre switching) / PTX Series (DC Edge/DC Interconnection) / SRX Series (security integration) / Apstra (highly desirable)

Experience with spine-leaf architectures and IP fabric designs.
