The Opportunity
The Internal Audit Associate Manager – Senior Data Analytics role is primarily responsible for undertaking data analytics activities in relation to audit assignments across WTW to evaluate the effectiveness of risk management and the design and operation of controls within the business. This includes performing data analytics to assist in the planning and execution of financial, operational and technology audits, advisory activities, and the delivery of other ad hoc projects.
The requirements of the role are as follows:
- Collaborating with global Internal Audit team colleagues to determine analysis requirements.
- Developing data analytics solutions for assigned audits and projects to ensure key business risks and controls are evaluated as needed.
- Developing ad-hoc analytics, management information, continuous monitoring solutions, and strategic solutions supporting Internal Audit initiatives.
- Developing visualisations to support audit activities and strategic solutions.
- Assisting audit teams by providing guidance on analysis approaches and the interpretation of deliverables.
- Preparation of data analytics working papers to support audit documentation.
- Supporting Internal Audit strategic data analytics activities.
Desired Skills and Experience
Technical skills required:
- Experience of developing data analytics solutions for audit use cases in financial services, preferably in the insurance industry.
- Experience of using Alteryx Designer to develop data analysis workflows.
- Experience of using data visualisation software, preferably Microsoft Power BI. The role will require the use of Microsoft Power BI Desktop and the Microsoft Power BI Cloud Service to develop data visualisations.
- Experience of using programming languages such as Python or PySpark in code notebooks to achieve data analysis objectives.
- Experience of using Microsoft Fabric, or similar cloud analytics platforms, to develop data analytics solutions would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Comfortable using generative AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, to enhance productivity and quality.
- Strong Excel skills and good overall knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams).
- Experience of preparing clear and concise documentation, which explains the data analytics solution developed.
