We are seeking an Education Coordinator & Academic Mentor to lead and coordinate a primary school student's educational programme across school, tutoring and extracurricular learning within a British school curriculum.

Beyond supporting the child's academic development, you will help the family integrate successfully into life in Portugal, acting as a trusted point of contact between the family, schools, tutors, activity providers and local organisations.
Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent relationship management skills and the ability to build effective connections with educators, families and service providers while coordinating multiple priorities with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
Educational Planning & Academic Coordination
- Lead and coordinate the educational programme across school, tutoring and extracurricular learning.
- Implement and oversee an individual educational development plan.
- Source and recommend high-quality tutors across a range of academic subjects.
- Monitor tutor performance and evaluate academic progress.
- Coordinate and manage the educational timetable and extracurricular schedule.
- Support homework completion and maintain oversight of academic performance.
- Accompany the child to lessons, extracurricular activities and appointments as required.
- Liaise with schools, teachers, tutors, sports clubs and activity providers.
- Research educational opportunities and enrichment activities within the Algarve region.
- Provide Portuguese language tuition
- Provide occasional assistance with administrative matters requiring Portuguese-English communication and translation.
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements
- University degree.
- Strong understanding of the British school and university education systems.
- Portuguese language proficiency at C2 level or equivalent.
- Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Full Category B driving licence with confident driving experience.
- Strong organisational, planning and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and take initiative.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience as an Education Coordinator, Academic Mentor, private tutor, educational consultant, or education consultant.
- Experience designing and managing personalised educational programmes
- Established knowledge of the Portuguese educational and local service network.
- Experience supporting international families relocating to Portugal.
