Work Model: Hybrid – 2 days per week at the office and 3 days remotely

In this role, you will support new initiatives related to telecommunications and enterprise process orchestration. You will analyse business and operational processes, translate them into executable BPMN workflows, and contribute to the delivery of robust, scalable, and maintainable orchestration solutions.
You will work with Camunda—preferably Camunda 8—and may also gain exposure to Pega, TM Forum Open APIs, microservices, OSS/BSS environments, network automation, and telecommunications operational processes.

Analyse business and operational processes and translate them into clear BPMN models.
- Design and implement executable workflows using Camunda, preferably Camunda 8.
- Lead or support process discovery, modelling, design, and optimisation activities.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical process designs.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, and engineering teams.
- Define technical implementation approaches for process orchestration solutions.
- Design orchestration flows integrating REST APIs, microservices, business rules, and external systems.
- Support workflow testing, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
- Identify process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to solution architecture, delivery planning, and technical governance.
- Produce technical documentation, BPMN diagrams, and implementation guidelines.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum activities, including backlog refinement and story mapping.
- Provide technical guidance to distributed or offshore engineering teams.
- Support the delivery of scalable, reliable, and maintainable workflow solutions.
- Promote process orchestration, automation, and integration best practices.

Between 5 and 10+ years of overall professional experience.
- At least 2–3 years of hands-on experience with Camunda.
- Strong practical experience with Camunda 8 is highly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of BPMN 2.0 and business process modelling.
- Experience with workflow orchestration, process automation, or BPM platforms.
- Practical experience in process discovery, design, modelling, and optimisation.
- Backend development experience, preferably with Java and Spring Boot or equivalent enterprise technologies.
- Experience integrating workflows with REST APIs, microservices, business rules, and external systems.
- Good understanding of distributed systems and enterprise application integration.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- Availability to work from the Lisbon, Porto, or Fundão office twice per week.

Experience with Pega Systems.
- Knowledge of TM Forum Open APIs.
- Experience in telecommunications, OSS/BSS, autonomous networks, or operational process automation.
- Knowledge of intent-driven design, closed-loop assurance, or telecom network automation.
- Experience with process mining, workflow analytics, or bottleneck analysis.
- Hands-on knowledge of Camunda 8 components such as Zeebe, Operate, Tasklist, DMN, and FEEL.
- Cloud-native experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and observability tools.
- Experience defining workflow testing strategies and automated validation.
- Previous experience guiding distributed or offshore development teams.
The ideal candidate is an experienced process orchestration specialist who can understand complex business and operational processes and convert them into clear, executable BPMN workflows.
You combine hands-on Camunda expertise with a solid backend development background and a good understanding of APIs, microservices, and distributed systems. You are comfortable participating in technical design decisions, identifying process improvements, and supporting engineering teams throughout implementation, testing, and optimisation.
You communicate clearly with both business and technical stakeholders, take ownership of delivery quality, and can provide technical leadership in international and distributed environments. Experience in telecommunications, OSS/BSS, or network automation will be particularly valuable.
