WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior / Lead Data Engineer with strong expertise in cloud-native data pipeline development, especially within the Microsoft ecosystem. You will design, build, and optimize scalable data architectures that support analytics, decision-making, and long-term platform evolution.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement cloud-native data pipelines and architectures
- Develop scalable data models and storage solutions
- Ensure data quality, lineage, documentation, and observability
- Optimize pipelines for performance and cost efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support analytics and business needs
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical standards (Lead role)
- Drive platform evolution and make defensible technical decision
IF YOU HAVE THESE SKILLS
- Strong experience in data architecture (ingestion, modelling, storage, orchestration — Medallion)
- Expertise in Microsoft cloud-native engineering (Fabric, ADF, Synapse)
- Hands-on experience with data lakes and warehouses (BigQuery, ADLS, Delta Lake, Redshift)
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, or Spark
- Solid knowledge of RDBMS and/or NoSQL databases
- Experience with DevOps/DataOps and CI/CD
- Ability to implement data validation, lineage, documentation, and monitoring at scale
- Proven ability to optimize pipelines for performance, cost, and reliability
AND MAYBE THESE
- Experience mentoring mid/junior engineers
- Ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps
- Strong communication skills to explain technical decisions clearly
- A mindset focused on ownership, anticipation of issues, and long-term platform evolution
- Cloud experience beyond Microsoft (AWS or GCP)
