Nina Brunch Café is looking for a strong, hands-on Senior Shift Lead to help us deliver consistently excellent service, develop our team and keep daily operations organised.
This is not an office-based management role. You will work alongside the team during service, lead by example and take responsibility for the smooth running of the shift.

- Assigning priorities and adjusting team deployment during the shift
- Supporting, training and giving practical feedback to new and existing team members
- Ensuring Nina’s service standards, SOPs and checklists are followed consistently
- Monitoring waiting times, order accuracy and communication between the floor, bar and kitchen
- Identifying unhappy guests early and resolving concerns before they leave
- Handling complaints and service recovery within agreed guidelines
- Reinforcing punctuality, presentation, teamwork and professional conduct
- Supporting daily stock checks, invoice capture and routine supplier follow-up
- Ensuring daily hygiene, allergen, temperature, cleaning and HACCP controls are completed correctly
- Completing a concise shift handover covering team issues, guest feedback, stock problems, maintenance and actions taken
- Escalating serious staff, safety, legal, reputational or operational issues quickly
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Previous experience as a shift leader, supervisor, assistant manager or senior team member in a restaurant, café or hotel
- Strong hospitality instincts and genuine enjoyment of working with guests
- Comfortable leading from the floor and stepping into service wherever needed
- Calm, organised and decisive during busy periods
- Able to give clear instructions and constructive feedback
- Reliable with checklists, handovers and follow-through
- Takes ownership: when you see a problem, you do not ignore it, you help solve it
- Interested in training, systems and helping a growing café become more consistent
- Fluent English and fluent Portuguese
- Available to work weekends and public holidays
- Comfortable commuting to Parque das Nações / Oriente for a daytime hospitality schedule
