Hotel Praia do Sol by Paparica Hotels is an independent lifestyle hotel located in Costa da Caparica, inspired by Atlantic culture, local fishing heritage, and surf life.
Conceived as more than a hotel, the project is designed as a place to live and connect, combining thoughtfully designed accommodation, a relaxed and locally driven restaurant, wellness facilities, and strong ties to surf, culture, and community. Our ambition is to deliver an authentic, high-quality hospitality experience rooted in simplicity, care, and local identity.
Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Hotel General Manager to lead the overall operations of Hotel Praia do Sol.
This is a full-time, on-site leadership role starting Spring / Summer 2026, reporting directly to the founding partners. The General Manager will be responsible for operational excellence, financial performance, team leadership, and ensuring a consistently high-quality guest experience.
This position requires a hands-on approach within an independent lifestyle hotel. Flexibility is expected, as operational presence may occasionally be required during evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily hotel operations, including accommodation, restaurant, wellness areas, and public spaces
- Lead, manage, and develop hotel teams, fostering a professional and guest-focused culture
- Ensure high standards of service, hospitality, and guest satisfaction
- Manage budgets, costs, and financial performance
- Coordinate with suppliers, partners, and local stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards
- Uphold the hotel’s values around authenticity, sustainability, and community connection
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Hotel Manager / General Manager or in a senior hospitality operations role
- Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on, proactive, and autonomous working style
- Fluent Portuguese is mandatory; professional working English required
- Interest in lifestyle hospitality and locally rooted projects
