Our client team rises daily to the challenges of meeting the cyber security needs of a global, advanced technology company. The team delivers security solutions and services across a range of technology domains including cloud, web, endpoint, network and more.
The cyber security team is looking for an individual with a passion working with developers and system administrators in applying hands-on skills to secure products and internal applications. The mission will include using and supporting tools that manage and test PKI, X509 certificates, OS user security, secrets management and code signing to solve problems and to enable secure practices as part of a modern enterprise security program worthy of our client.
What you'll be doing:
- Candidates should have a strong interest in cyber security, and a grasp of security technologies such as TLS and X509 Certificates, Web Application Firewalls, endpoint security and basic cryptography fundamentals.
- An analytical approach to helping teams overcome practical problems using data and critical thinking will be essential.
- Good written and spoken communication skills will also be important.
- A successful candidate will become a member of the Information Security and Compliance team and will work with engineers, developers, project owners and users to implement security controls, fulfill security requests, and adapt to new security protocols. This will entail explaining recommendations and combining people skills with technical ingenuity.
- Collaboration on projects with the rest of the security team and with engineers from other departments will be frequent.
What you'll need to be successful:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or Information Security or equivalent
- Experience with common Windows and Linux security tools like RunAs, PsExec, sudo, and ssh - Understanding of how those tools work and how to use them safely
- Understanding of authentication concepts like multifactor and single sign-on
- Understanding of how X509 certificates are used in HTTPS
- Ability to automate simple tasks with scripts in Python, Bash or PowerShell
- Basic knowledge of web client and server communication (DNS, HTTP, etc)
- Fluency with common networking tools like nmap, curl, openssl and wireshark
- Ability to independently handle multiple tasks and remain responsive
- Excellent communication skills, on both technical and non-technical issues
