We are looking for a Cloud System Engineer with strong multi-cloud and FinOps expertise to join a strategic project within the energy sector.
You will play a key role in improving the efficiency, governance and financial sustainability of cloud environments across Azure, AWS and GCP. This position combines hands-on cloud optimisation, cost management, automation and technical advisory responsibilities.
It is an excellent opportunity for a cloud professional who enjoys identifying optimisation opportunities, implementing automation and helping Architecture, Engineering and Operations teams build efficient and sustainable cloud platforms.

Implement and promote Cloud FinOps best practices across Azure, AWS and GCP environments.

Monitor cloud resource consumption, costs and performance.

Identify waste, cost anomalies and optimisation opportunities.

Develop automation solutions for collecting, analysing and processing cloud usage and cost data.

Execute optimisation initiatives, including rightsizing, reservations, Savings Plans and removal of unused resources.

Support Architecture, Engineering and Operations teams in adopting efficient and sustainable cloud architectures.

Contribute to the evolution of the organisation’s FinOps strategy.

Produce technical analyses and recommendations for the continuous improvement of cloud platforms.

Act as a technical reference for efficiency, governance and optimisation in multi-cloud environments.

Create, maintain and review detailed technical documentation.

Professional experience as a Cloud Engineer, Cloud System Engineer or in a similar role.

Up to 10 years of relevant professional experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.

Proven hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud provider: Azure, AWS or GCP.

Experience optimising solutions deployed in public cloud environments.

Practical knowledge of Cloud FinOps principles and cloud cost optimisation.

Experience with cloud cost management tools.

Ability to monitor usage, identify cost anomalies and recommend corrective actions.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

English at B2 level or above.

Availability to work in a hybrid model, attending the office twice per week.

At least one of the following certifications:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate

Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer

Experience with CloudHealth or another recognised cloud cost management platform.

Experience working across multi-cloud environments involving Azure, AWS and GCP.

Knowledge of Agile methodologies.

Experience with Jira and Confluence.

Professional proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish.

Previous experience in the energy sector.

Familiarity with cloud governance, tagging strategies, budgeting, forecasting and cost allocation.

Experience developing scripts or automation for cloud cost and usage analysis.
The ideal candidate combines strong cloud engineering knowledge with a cost-conscious and analytical mindset. You understand how technical decisions affect cloud expenditure and can translate usage and billing data into practical optimisation initiatives.
You are comfortable working with Architecture, Engineering and Operations teams, challenging inefficient practices and recommending sustainable solutions. You can operate independently, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and act as a trusted reference for Cloud FinOps, governance and multi-cloud optimisation.
You are also proactive, detail-oriented and motivated by measurable outcomes such as reduced cloud waste, improved resource utilisation and stronger cost visibility.
