We are looking for a Data Engineer
Context
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a dynamic environment focused on building and maintaining data integration solutions.
This role is centered on designing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring data quality, performance and reliability, while working closely with business and technical stakeholders.
Main Mission
To design, develop and optimize data pipelines and integration processes, ensuring high data quality, scalability and compliance with governance standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform and load data into data warehouses and data lakes
- Configure and manage ETL tools (e.g., Semarchy, Stambia, Talend, DataStage)
- Write and optimize SQL queries and contribute to data modeling (ODS, staging, core analytics)
- Implement data quality checks, lineage and monitoring processes
- Manage job orchestration using VTOM / Virtual-M (or similar tools), including monitoring and troubleshooting
- Automate processes using UNIX/Linux scripting (shell, etc.)
- Collaborate with data architects, analysts and business teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions
- Optimize pipeline performance and identify bottlenecks
- Ensure data governance, security and compliance (data masking, access control, audit trails)
- Produce technical documentation and support knowledge transfer
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering
Profile & Skills
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, with ability to interact with international teams
- Fluent in English (French is a plus)
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with ETL/ELT tools (Semarchy, Stambia, Talend, DataStage or similar)
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake)
- Experience with VTOM / workload automation tools
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux scripting (shell, awk, sed; Python is a plus)
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL patterns, data quality and lineage
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP)
- Familiarity with data governance and data cataloging
- Exposure to big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop)
- Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices for data pipelines
Hybrid work model, with presence required in Lisbon office.
