We are looking for a Data Engineer (VBA/Access – Low Code)
Context
We are looking for a mid-level Data Engineer to support and evolve local data solutions within a banking environment. This role combines hands-on development with strong interaction with business stakeholders, ensuring the maintenance of legacy tools while contributing to modern low-code initiatives.
Main Mission
To maintain and enhance existing data solutions while supporting the transition towards scalable low-code/no-code tools, acting as a bridge between business needs and technical implementation.
Main Responsibilities
1.Access & Development Maintenance
- Provide support for Access and Excel-based solutions
- Ensure maintenance and stability of existing tools
- Perform enhancements and bug fixing
- Develop ad hoc solutions and support migration/transformation initiatives
2. Low-Code / No-Code Initiatives
- Gather and formalize business requirements
- Translate needs into functional specifications
- Collaborate with IT and data teams for implementation and costing
- Contribute to documentation and solution design
- Support solutions built with Alteryx or similar tools
3. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as main contact for business users (back office)
- Facilitate communication between business, Product Owner and technical teams
- Ensure alignment between solutions and business processes
- Ensure maintenance and stability of existing tools
- Perform enhancements and bug fixing
- Develop ad hoc solutions and support migration/transformation initiatives
Profile & Skills
- Mid-level experience in data-related roles
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Analytical and solution-oriented mindset
- Comfortable working with legacy tools and evolving to modern solutions
- Interest in working closely with business teams
Technical Skills
- Microsoft Access
- Excel (advanced level, VBA is a plus)
- SQL
Nice to have:
- Experience with Alteryx or other low-code/no-code tools
- Exposure to data transformation or migration projects
Hybrid work model, with presence required in Porto office.
