RESPONSIBILITIES:
Airbus Atlantic Portugal is currently recruiting for its’ site in Santo Tirso - Porto. The Logistic Operational Specialist serves as the primary interface between various operational functions to ensure that the right part is delivered via the appropriate logistics channel, at the right time, to the point of use, while adhering to safety guidelines, operating procedures, and applicable standards. Responsible for the continuous improvement of logistics operations at a station, unit, or site.
MAIN TASKS AND MISSION:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support the development of Operational System maturity by providing input data;
- Design and implement optimized distribution solutions (physical and IT flows) and ensure data management;
- Coordinate and monitor logistics activities and manage logistics resources, as well as inventory;
- Participate in logistics SQCDP meetings;
- Escalate issues impacting logistics and/or production activities cross-functionally;
- Analyze KPIs to anticipate problems and improve the distribution flow from the Warehouse to the Point of Use (PoU);
- Ensure the creation and maintenance of logistics data and flow mapping, and inform the affected departments.
- Provide advice and assistance to the workshop to train them on physical flow issues;
- Create specifications for new activities and ensure their follow-up;
- Improve performance within your area of responsibility through corrective, remedial, and preventive actions;
- Lead or contribute to the resolution of practical problems (PPS);
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of specific logistics resources;
- Manage the rotation of specific and standard resources within internal and external flows within your scope;
PROFILE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Academic background in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Management or similar;
- Solid experience in similar functions (>5 years) – Industry sector background will be valued;
- Logistics and warehouse management;
- Lean knowledge and the ability to perform Root Cause Analysis when a shipment goes missing or a part is damaged.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills, with a hands-on approach and strategic thinking;
- Rigorous, organized and proactive;
- Expertise with MS Office package and SAP (specifically modules like MM, PP, or WM), to analyze lead times and stock discrepancies;
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); French is a plus;
