A well-established international school in the Greater Lisbon area is seeking to appoint an exceptional Head of School to provide strategic, educational, and operational leadership.
In a period of strong growth and brand expansion, we are looking for a School Director to join our international school, which follows the prestigious Cambridge International Education Curriculum.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic educational and operational leadership, bringing significant senior leadership experience within an international school environment, together with an excellent track record of leading high-performing teams and driving school improvement. Outstanding written and spoken English is essential, together with strong communication, organisational, and operations management skills. Relevant academic and leadership qualifications are expected.
key responsibilities:
-Provide strategic leadership to ensure the successful delivery of the school's vision, mission, and long-term objectives.
-Lead and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence.
-collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional development.
-Ensure outstanding teaching and learning across all phases of the school, aligned with the Cambridge International Education curriculum and best international practices.
-Drive continuous school improvement through effective planning, self-evaluation, and quality assurance.
-Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring the efficient management of academic, administrative, and operational functions.
-Promote student wellbeing, safeguarding, inclusion, and the highest standards of pastoral care.
-Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider school community, ensuring effective communication and high levels of engagement.
-Lead the recruitment, development, performance management, and retention of high-quality teaching and support staff.
-Ensure compliance with all relevant educational regulations, accreditation standards, health and safety requirements, and school policies.
-Monitor and manage school budgets and resources effectively, ensuring financial sustainability and operational efficiency.
-Collaborate closely with the Executive Leadership Team to support the continued growth, innovation, and strategic development of the School.
Profil:
- Higher education in Education, Linguistics, or a related field;
- Previous experience in the same role is required;
- English language proficiency. Native or near-native in both spoken and written;
- Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with Cambridge programmes
- People-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and a good team spirit;
- Kindness and a taste for working with children and young teenagers
- Belief in the capacity of each child to achieve excellence.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and student welfare practices.
- Non-EU candidates must hold the required Portuguese work permit.
