Maintenance Technician (Handyman)

Position Overview
We are seeking a practical and proactive Maintenance Technician (Handyman) to join our Maintenance team in Pegões. This role is responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and day-to-day facility improvements, allowing the Maintenance team to focus on larger technical projects and preventive maintenance activities.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, resourceful, and enjoys solving practical problems while maintaining a safe and well-functioning facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks throughout the facility
- Carry out minor plumbing repairs, including replacing taps, repairing leaks, and maintaining water systems
- Perform basic electrical work, such as replacing sockets, switches, lighting fixtures, and other low-complexity installations
- Assemble, install, and repair furniture, shelving, fixtures, and equipment
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from different departments
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems
- Support the Maintenance team during larger maintenance projects when required
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with health, safety, and company procedures
- Report recurring issues and recommend improvements to facilities and equipment
Requirements
- Previous experience in general maintenance, facilities, construction, or a handyman role
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Strong problem-solving skills and practical mindset
- Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Physically capable of performing maintenance work, including lifting, climbing ladders, and prolonged standing
Reporting Line
Reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
