About the Role
As Night Auditor, you will be responsible for ensuring a warm and professional welcome throughout the night while maintaining the smooth and secure operation of the hotel.
Combining guest service with administrative and financial responsibilities, you will manage overnight Front Office operations, assist guests, perform the daily financial closing, and prepare the hotel for the following day.
This position requires autonomy, attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to remain calm and solution-oriented in every situation.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome and Support Our Guests
- Welcome guests arriving during the night and ensure efficient check-in and check-out procedures.
- Respond to guest requests and provide helpful information about the hotel, its services, and the local area.
- Ensure every interaction reflects the warmth, authenticity, and personality of Canaan Hub.
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and unexpected situations with empathy and professionalism.
Manage Overnight Front Office Operations
- Ensure the smooth running of all Front Office activities during the night shift.
- Manage room allocations, reservations, guest profiles, payments, and billing.
- Monitor hotel activity and maintain accurate communication records for the morning team.
- Prepare arrivals, departures, and relevant operational information for the following day.
- Perform Night Audit Procedures
- Complete the daily financial and operational closing in Cloudbeds PMS.
- Verify transactions, payments, cash balances, invoices, and revenue postings.
- Identify and correct any discrepancies before closing the business day.
- Prepare and distribute the required daily reports to the relevant departments.
Ensure Safety and Security
- Monitor the hotel’s public areas and ensure a safe and secure environment throughout the night.
- Follow emergency, security, and incident-management procedures.
- Respond appropriately to alarms, incidents, or unexpected situations.
- Coordinate with security, maintenance, or emergency services whenever necessary
Collaborate Across Departments
- Communicate relevant information clearly to the morning Front Office team and other departments.
- Work closely with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Revenue Management, and Food & Beverage to support seamless hotel operations.
- Ensure that guest requests and operational issues are properly recorded and followed up.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Night Auditor, Night Receptionist, Receptionist, or in a similar Front Office role within the hospitality industry.
- Experience with night audit procedures, invoicing, payments, and daily financial closing is highly valued.
- Strong guest-service skills and a genuine passion for hospitality.
- Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions during the night.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in unexpected situations.
- Experience with hotel PMS platforms; Cloudbeds experience is a strong advantage.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese is mandatory. Additional languages will be highly valued.
- Availability to work permanent night shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- A positive attitude, reliability, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.
