About the Role
We are seeking an HSE Manager that will report to the Site Director and will form a crucial part of the Site Leadership Team. They will have responsibility for all HSE activities across site developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE internal policies and legislation.
You will:
- Act as the site expert and advisor on all Health, Safety & Environment matters.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and corporate standards.
- Challenge and support the management team to ensure effective implementation of HSE policies, procedures, and systems.
- Drive a proactive Safety Culture, across all levels of the organization, influencing behaviors, ensuring employees always operate safely and responsibly.
- Develop, review, and continuously improve safe systems of work, ensuring risks are properly identified and mitigated.
- Manage and support the development of the HSE Technician, ensuring capability building within the team.
What do we expect from you?
- Minimum 5/8 years of experience in a HSE role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Certified Safety professional (Level 6/7 or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices, with the ability to translate them into operational reality.
- Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, from shopfloor to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in building and embedding a strong safety culture.
- Hands-on, proactive, and resilient mindset, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in incident investigation and data-driven decision making.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to inspire and lead by example.
- Fluent in Portuguese and English.
