Tandoori Express is a restaurant located at Kinkerstraat 43 in Amsterdam, specializing in authentic Indian cuisine. We combine traditional recipes and spices with fresh ingredients. Quality, flavour, and hospitality are at the heart of everything we do.
The Position
For our Tandoori Express location at Kinkerstraat 43 in Amsterdam, we are looking for an independently working Cook I. In this role, you are responsible for preparing authentic Indian dishes. You safeguard the quality and authenticity of our kitchen, combine traditional Indian flavours with modern presentation, and ensure a consistently high quality of our dishes. You work independently, while also actively contributing to good collaboration within the kitchen team.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assessing the quality of products/ingredients and preparing them for use
- Preparing and presenting dishes according to recipes and quality standards
- Carrying out preparatory work (cutting, mixing, etc.) and performing interim quality checks
- Responsible for inventory and ordering management
- Keeping the kitchen and equipment clean; identifying and resolving minor malfunctions
- Providing technical guidance to kitchen assistants
- Contributing input regarding the composition and modification of menus, menu cards, and methods
- Thinking along about improvements in the kitchen
Job Requirements

- Salary in accordance with the Hospitality Industry Collective Labor Agreement (Horeca CAO): €2,600 – €3,200 per month (depending on experience)
