Program Manager — Engineering & Product Delivery — Onsite, Porto, Portugal · Relocation & visa sponsorship provided ( 8 -10 years )
About the Company:
Tech and Beyond Solutions Lda, is a high-growth, product-led software company building cloud-native platforms used by thousands of enterprise customers across Europe. We're engineering-led and product-focused, and we move fast without losing the plot. As we scale, strong program management is what keeps ambitious, multi-team initiatives coherent, on track, and high quality. Our team is multicultural, collaborative, and built on ownership.
Why Join Us:
This is a high-leverage role at exactly the moment it matters. You'll connect strategy to delivery across multiple engineering teams, remove the obstacles that slow great people down, and bring clarity to complex, fast-moving programs — with real authority to do it well. We don't treat program management as administration; we treat it as a craft that makes the difference between ambitious plans and shipped outcomes. You'll have the trust of leadership and the access to the teams you need to make programs genuinely succeed.
Role Overview:
As a Program Manager, you'll drive the planning and delivery of cross-functional technology programs. You'll align engineering, product, and stakeholders, manage dependencies and risk, and keep complex initiatives moving toward outcomes that matter. You'll be the person who sees the whole board — who knows what's blocked and why, who's waiting on whom, and what needs to happen next — and who turns that visibility into momentum the teams can feel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and drive delivery of complex, multi-team programs from initiation to launch.
- Build and maintain roadmaps, timelines, and dependency maps across teams.
- Identify, track, and mitigate risks, blockers, and cross-team dependencies.
- Facilitate the rituals that keep delivery healthy — planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives.
- Communicate status, trade-offs, and decisions clearly to engineers and leadership alike.
- Partner with product and engineering leaders to align scope, capacity, and priorities.
- Continuously improve how we deliver — process, tooling, and ways of working.
- Coordinate launch readiness across engineering, product, support, and go-to-market functions.
- Champion transparency, surfacing realistic status and trade-offs rather than optimistic guesses
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8–10 years in program/project management within software or technology organizations.
- Proven track record delivering complex, cross-functional technology programs.
- Strong grasp of modern engineering practices and agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Confident with risk, dependency, and capacity management at scale.
- Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous, high-growth environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background or fluency in cloud-native and distributed systems delivery.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, release management, and observability practices.
- Relevant certifications (PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum, SAFe).
- Experience with delivery tooling (Jira, Linear) and metrics-driven program management.
Technology Environment:
You'll work alongside teams building on Java, Spring Boot, React, Next.js, Kubernetes, and the major cloud platforms. You won't write the code, but understanding the landscape — microservices, CI/CD, cloud delivery — is what makes you effective.
Success Measures (First 12 Months):
- Month 3: Fully embedded; owning at least one significant program with a clear plan and rhythm.
- Month 6: Demonstrably improved predictability and delivery health across your programs.
- Month 12: A trusted delivery partner to leadership, with measurable improvements in how multiple teams ship.
Career Growth Opportunities:
Grow toward senior program leadership, a PMO function, or director-level delivery. We support certifications, learning budget, and advancement based on the outcomes you drive.
