You will join the T&D Substations team within the Generation and Networks Unit, working on control and protection engineering for HV/MV electrical substations.
The HV and MV Substation Control and Protection Engineer will be responsible for the design, review, and calculation of control, protection, and auxiliary systems for substation projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare control and protection engineering documentation for HV/MV substations, including single-line diagrams, detailed schematics, cabinet layouts, material lists, and signal and cable lists.
Review control, protection, and auxiliary services engineering for HV/MV electrical substations.
Draft and review technical specifications and terms of reference for the procurement of main substation equipment.
Perform electrical calculations related to control and protection systems (e.g. voltage and current transformers, LV conductors).
Design and calculate auxiliary services systems for HV/MV substations.
Support control and protection system design activities throughout the engineering phase.
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Technical Engineering with an electrical specialization.
At least 3 years of experience in control and protection engineering for HV/MV electrical substations.
Knowledge of Spanish electrical regulations is a plus.
Advanced user-level proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
Knowledge of utility control and protection standards and IEC 61850 is a plus.
Experience with EPLAN, protection design and relay settings, and/or electrical network modeling tools (DigSilent, ETAP, CAPE, or similar) is valued.
Knowledge of substation communication systems is an advantage.
Fluent in Portuguese & English; Spanish is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously in multidisciplinary environments.
Good organizational skills, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining quality.
