In this pivotal role as a Senior Network Engineer, you will join a team of experienced network engineers at the forefront of shaping and expanding a worldwide corporate infrastructure of a dynamic and growing company.
Your core mandate will involve implementing and operating cutting-edge enterprise network solutions. Guided by our strategic vision, you will assist in deploying key initiatives in Europe and in other parts of the globe.
Main responsibilities:
- Work directly with internal technical teams to implement new technologies as well as provide operational support.
- This role will require a broad understanding of networking technology that will cover multiple platforms.
- Monitor the integrity, operation, and optimization of the WAN, LAN, Wireless, VPN, and networks for the enterprise.
- Troubleshoot advance incidents or direct issues to appropriate stakeholders for resolution.
- Design, plan and implement approved projects.
- Create and maintain documentation of network solutions, incidents and general knowledge base.
- Identify and map network requirements for applications in collaboration with development teams.
- Provide timely responses to assigned tickets and update case management system accordingly.
- Work with security office to respond to vulnerabilities in the network environment.
- Planning, documenting, and performing of network changes/extensions.
- Orchestration of firewall rules and underlying network settings.
- Designing and documenting the corporate network architecture (LAN/WAN/WLAN/SECURITY).
- Network security experience and awareness.
- Operating and monitoring of the corporate network infrastructure.
- Providing next level network infrastructure related support.
- Designing network aspects of disaster recovery and operational security.
- Maintaining, auditing, and improving corporate network & security standards.
- Performing network related root cause analysis (RCA) and problem resolution.
- Defining, monitoring, and reporting KPIs for network services/devices.
- Managing proof of concepts, feasibility studies and other corporate initiatives.
- Hands-on experience in SDWAN technology, network design, and implementation preferred.
- Create and maintain documentation of network solutions, incidents and general knowledge base.
Requirements:
- Relevant network/IT related education (academic degree preferred).
- Excellent understanding of corporate network & data center application architecture concepts.
- Excellent analytic skills.
- Excellent understanding of:
- Security & firewall infrastructure (Multivendor) - mandatory.
- VPN technologies/infrastructure.
- Network design/management/automation.
- Network technologies (Layer1-Layer4).
- Good communication & technical writing skills.
- Independent, goal-oriented, and self-motivating personality.
- Passion to deliver high quality standard levels.
- Accuracy and high-risk awareness.
- Excellent English language skills (oral & written).
- Willingness to travel and to perform standby on-calls.
Specific skills and knowledge:
- Min 5 years of professional experience in senior network engineering roles.
- Practical experience in enterprise network & security Plan/Build/Run setup.
- Network infrastructure (Cisco) - mandatory.
- Knowledge and experience in Palo Alto firewalls.
- Work experience within an international/multicultural environment preferred.
- Ability to work with teams distributed in different time zones.
