As an IT Engineer, you will contribute to the performance, stability and reliability of critical IT systems. You will use your technical expertise to support infrastructure, resolve technical issues and help maintain secure and efficient operations. The role also involves travelling to customer sites to deploy and prepare infrastructure, perform testing and validation activities, and ensure solutions are delivered in a planned, robust and production-ready state.
What are the responsibilities?
Technical support and issue resolution
- Provide timely and effective technical support, resolving hardware and software issues with a strong focus on service quality.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate complex cases when needed.
- Support the installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software components.
System reliability and maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance activities to help ensure the stability, performance and security of the IT environment.
- Support updates, patches and upgrades in collaboration with the IT team.
- Monitor system performance proactively and take action to reduce recurring issues.
Documentation and knowledge sharing
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for systems, configurations, procedures and support activities.
- Contribute to a practical knowledge base that supports consistent issue resolution.
- Support the creation of technical guides and operational documentation.
Collaboration and continuous improvement
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support reliable and effective technical solutions.
- Work with external vendors when required to resolve issues and maintain service continuity.
- Collaborate with teams across different regions to deliver infrastructure solutions and provide training on systems and platforms.
- Contribute to technical projects and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen digital operations.
What do you need to qualify for this job?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in IT support and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Relevant IT certifications are considered a plus (e.g., networking, virtualization or security certifications).
- Strong knowledge of hardware, software, networking and security fundamentals.
- Solid knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls) is a must-have.
- Strong Linux knowledge is a must, including administration, troubleshooting and system management in enterprise environments.
- Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is highly valued.
- Hands-on experience with storage technologies (SAN, NAS, backup and recovery solutions) is considered a plus.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles (system hardening, patch management, access control, vulnerability management) is a strong plus.
- Ability to contribute to and support IT project delivery, ensuring technical solutions are aligned with business objectives, timelines, and stakeholder requirements.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, coordinating with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and delivery.
- Understanding of project lifecycle, including planning, execution, risk management, and change control within IT environments.
- Capability to align infrastructure, networking, and system design decisions with overall project architecture and organizational standards.
