You will work on a strategic enterprise platform used to strengthen control, supervision, and non-financial risk management across an international banking environment.
This position offers the opportunity to build reliable Java backend services, contribute to core and business-specific features, improve application performance and security, and participate throughout the complete software development lifecycle.

Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services and components.
- Contribute to core, transversal, and business-specific platform features.
- Translate functional requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Collaborate closely with business analysts, product owners, architects, and developers.
- Design and maintain RESTful APIs and backend integrations.
- Write unit tests and participate in code reviews.
- Apply development standards and software-engineering best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Support deployment activities and CI/CD processes.
- Contribute to application stability and production support when required.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Maintain clear and relevant technical documentation.

Minimum of three years of professional Java development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 8 or higher.
- Solid knowledge of Spring and Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of backend service design.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
- Practical knowledge of SQL.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience using Git or another version-control system.
- Professional experience in Agile or Scrum environments.
- Good understanding of non-functional requirements, including performance, security, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Experience with unit testing and code reviews.
- Ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- Availability to work from Lisbon according to the project’s working model.

The ideal candidate is a mid-level Java developer with at least three years of professional experience and strong hands-on knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and relational databases.
You are comfortable working on scalable enterprise applications and understand that software quality extends beyond functional delivery to include security, performance, reliability, and maintainability. You communicate effectively with technical and functional stakeholders, contribute proactively to architectural and engineering discussions, and take ownership of your work through development, deployment, and production support.
Experience in banking, risk-management platforms, microservices, containers, messaging systems, or event-driven architectures will be particularly valuable.
