We are looking for a maritime professional with client orientation to join our technical Maritime Operations team in Lisbon:
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily communication with ship managers and ship owners globally
- Quick and professional replies to companies explaining the applicable procedures
- Handling any type of daily enquiries from Ship Managers having ships registered with the Portuguese International Ship Registry in Madeira
- Analysis of the enquiries in the frame of national and international rules and regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, BWMC, MLC, ILO, etc.)
- Co-ordination of cases with relevant offices of Classification Societies and relevant officers of different entities of Portuguese Maritime Administration
- Giving technical advise, as far as possible and applicable
- Process applications for approval of armed guards transits as per decree law 159/2019 on behalf of our clients
- Process applications for Continuous Synopsis Records in accordance with SOLAS XI-I/5
- Supporting the Port State team of our department in statistics and forcast procedures
- Manage related databases and platforms
- Collaborate with the team and make use of the team spirit and different capabilities within the team.
What We Are Looking For:
- must have: Education / Training within the maritime industry, e.g. Nautical Studies, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with maritime experience
- must have: Knowledge of maritime rules and regulations as well as their application
- Understanding of the industry and its needs
- Experience within a shipping company, classification society or similar is an advantage
- Strong skills in keeping the overview, even when times are challenging
- Ability to handle several cases in parallel
- Willingness to assist clients always in a quick and professional manner
- Ability to write and advise professionally
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with customers, and our team
- Language Skills: Portuguese and excellent English spoken and written.
- Should be based in Lisbon metropolitan area
