Senior Country IT Lead
based in Porto
The Senior Country IT Lead – SCC Portugal operates in very close alignment with Cardif Head Office and acts as a direct extension of the Cardif Group CIO, combining strategic transformation leadership with strong operational ownership, assuming the following key responsibilities:
Act as a key architect of Cardif’s global IT sourcing strategy, in close coordination with Cardif Head Office ensuring consistency, scalability and risk control
Contribute, structure and execute Cardif’s multi‑regional IT shoring and sourcing in alignment with Group Strategy ensuring the adequate IT workforce design and implementation
Desing, implement and manage sustainable sourcing models to accelerate nearshore and offshore capabilities embedded in Cardif´s operating strategy
Lead and manage the SCC IT Portugal workforce, ensuring end‑to‑end operational accountability for IT services and deliveries provided to Cardif entities
YOUR FUTURE MISSION
Insurance Expertise & Business Alignment
Ensure sourcing and IT transformation choices are fully aligned with the specific requirements of Insurance – Savings and Protection businesses
Maintain a strong understanding of end-to-end insurance value chains, from distribution to policy administration and claims
Guarantee business continuity, service quality, and regulatory compliance throughout the transformation
Governance, Risk & Resilience
Ensure all sourcing models comply with BNP Paribas and Cardif governance, security and regulatory frameworks
Anticipate and manage operational, cyber, and third-party risks inherent to shoring/offshoring models
Reinforce operational resilience and control mechanisms at regional and global levels
Head Office Integration
Work in very close alignment with Cardif Head Office, with frequent interactions with Cardif CIO Office sourcing and Strategic ETO transformation teams
Act as a senior relay of Global Cardif IT strategy within Portugal and across the regions served
Contribute to Global Cardif decision-making on sourcing, investment prioritization, and IT operating models
Multi-Regional IT Leadership
Operate with a multi-region mindset, supporting Cardif entities across served regions
Navigate between local country constraints and global industrialization targets
Build effective bridges between regional business needs, Group IT functions, and global delivery centers
Leadership & Change Management
Exercise strong executive leadership over multicultural and multi-location teams
Drive change with authority, diplomacy and clarity, in complex stakeholder environments
Secure buy-in from local entities while maintaining momentum on Cardif IT strategic objectives
READY TO MAKE AN IMPACT? HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Holder of an advanced degree, ideally a Master or MBA, with proven senior executive management in IT contexts in complex environments and fast-paced companies
Proven IT executive senior skills with proven experience operating at Group and multi-regional levels
Proven leadership in large-scale sourcing and offshoring programs
Strong experience managing multi-regional and multicultural environments
Deep understanding of Insurance (Savings & Protection) value chains and regulatory constraints
Exceptional navigation skills to maneuver complex stakeholder ecosystems, balancing business expectations, IT constraints, and Group strategy
Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on, with a strong delivery mindset
Credibility to represent Cardif IT at the highest executive levels
Strong command in French & English is mandatory, other languages are also a strong advantage – Portuguese is highly valued
Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate stakeholders in a cross functional environment
Ability to interact effectively at all levels and relevant stakeholders
Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage large size scopes and lead multidisciplinary, while setting and achieve strategic objectives, ensuring operational resilience and budget accomplishment
