You will join an established Test Centre responsible for delivering structured testing services across banking, savings, protection, and life-insurance applications.
As a Senior Test Leader, you will contribute to the Test Strategy and Master Test Plan, coordinate test analysts, ensure the quality and timely execution of testing activities, manage risks and defects, and report progress to project stakeholders.
You will work in an Agile environment and support critical Go/No-Go decisions by providing clear evidence regarding test coverage, quality, risks, and unresolved anomalies.
Test Strategy and Planning

Contribute to the definition of the Test Strategy and Master Test Plan.
- Build detailed test schedules aligned with project milestones.
- Define the scope, approach, priorities, resources, and deliverables for testing activities.
- Ensure that test planning follows the established methodology, procedures, and quality standards.
- Identify testing risks and define appropriate mitigation and follow-up actions.
- Coordinate one or more software testers across project activities.
Test Design

Coordinate and contribute to the design of functional and business tests.
- Ensure alignment between test scenarios, business requirements, and project deliverables.
- Register test topics, scenarios, and supporting information in the appropriate management tools.
- Ensure that all testing deliverables are produced, validated, and communicated.
- Guarantee the correct prioritization of tests according to business impact and project risk.
- Promote knowledge sharing and testing best practices among business analysts and testers.
Test Execution

Coordinate and perform tests within the assigned scope.
- Ensure that test results and supporting evidence are correctly recorded.
- Monitor execution progress, coverage, quality, and deadlines.
- Report risks that could affect delivery dates, quality, or project commitments.
- Provide regular progress updates to the Test Manager and direct management.
- Supply the evidence and recommendations required for Go/No-Go decisions.
Defect Management

Identify, document, and track anomalies throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Ensure that defects are registered in the correct tools and contain sufficient technical and functional details.
- Coordinate the prioritization of defects based on severity and business impact.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project teams during defect analysis and correction.
- Coordinate retesting and regression testing after corrections.
- Validate resolved defects and contribute to final testing reports.
Reporting and Stakeholder Management

Produce clear test-progress, quality, risk, and defect reports.
- Communicate testing status to project stakeholders.
- Organize and lead test-progress and defect-management committees.
- Escalate significant risks, delays, blockers, and quality concerns.
- Provide the information required to support project governance and release decisions.
- Contribute to final test reports, procedures, and lessons learned.

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software-testing activities.
- Experience working as a Test Leader, Test Coordinator, Test Manager, or similar position.
- Ability to define a Test Strategy and Master Test Plan.
- Ability to build and manage test schedules.
- Experience coordinating one or more software testers.
- Solid knowledge of testing methodologies, terminology, and lifecycle principles.
- Knowledge of ISTQB principles and vocabulary.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Practical knowledge of OpenText ALM Octane, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Knowledge of API testing.
- Practical knowledge of SQL for test validation and data analysis.
- Experience identifying, monitoring, and communicating project and testing risks.
- Experience with functional testing, test execution, and defect management.
- Ability to provide evidence and recommendations for Go/No-Go decisions.
- Strong coordination, communication, and team-motivation skills.
- Systematic, critical, analytical, and logical thinking.
- Strong ability to summarize complex information clearly.
- Professional proficiency in French.
- Availability to travel outside Portugal.
- Flexibility to work outside normal office hours in exceptional situations.

Experience testing life-insurance, savings, protection, or banking products.
- Knowledge of applications such as ORION, HERA, Wynsure, or GLIS.
- ISTQB certification.
- Experience in an enterprise Test Centre or testing center of excellence.
- Experience managing testing committees and senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of regression, integration, end-to-end, and user-acceptance testing.
- Experience testing REST APIs using dedicated testing tools.
- Strong customer-service and quality-oriented mindset.
- Experience working in international and multicultural environments.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Test Leader with at least five years of hands-on testing experience and a strong understanding of test strategy, planning, design, execution, reporting, and defect management.
You can coordinate and motivate testers, prioritize workloads, manage risks, lead test and defect committees, and communicate quality concerns confidently to project stakeholders. You are comfortable working with Agile methodologies, Octane, JIRA, Confluence, APIs, and SQL.
You are structured, analytical, demanding about quality, and capable of remaining effective under pressure. Experience in banking, life insurance, savings, or protection products will be particularly valuable.
