The Role
As a Payments Integration Specialist, you will own and support hotel payment integrations with our payments partner. You’ll be the person customers and internal teams rely on to translate technical payment concepts into clear actions, troubleshoot complex issues, and keep integrations stable and scalable. This role is ideal for someone who has lived in PMS systems, ideally with some payments experience, who understands the nuances, the complexity, and what to look for when things don’t behave as expected.
You will:
· Be the day-to-day owner of all, but especially payment integrations for hotels using Host PMS.
· Troubleshoot technical payment and integration issues across systems (PMS ↔ gateway/processor ↔ terminal/device ↔ hotel network/environment).
· Gather and digest technical information quickly (logs, error codes, configuration details, transaction examples) and turn it into a clear plan.
· Coordinate with our payments partner and internal stakeholders to drive incidents to resolution. Setting expectations, documenting findings, and confirming fixes.
· Maintain integration documentation, configuration standards, checklists, and internal runbooks so the team can scale and repeat success.
· Proactively identify integration risks and recurring failure points, and work with the Payments Manager to improve reliability and customer outcomes.
· Support enablement: train/support internal teams so they can recognise integration patterns and route issues correctly.
What we’re looking for:
· Strong technical troubleshooting ability, especially with PMS systems (you can isolate variables, test hypotheses, and explain root cause).
· Confidence working with integration partners and technical customer teams, communicating clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Highly organised: you track multiple threads, keep stakeholders updated, and document decisions and outcomes.
· A customer-first mindset: you care about making the solution work in the real world and keeping hotels operating smoothly.
Nice to have:
· Payments industry experience (preferred) with fluency in payments concepts and terminology.
· Experience supporting integrations for hospitality (PMS/POS) or omnichannel payment setups.
· Familiarity with common operational topics: settlements, reconciliation, refunds/voids, chargebacks, tokenisation, 3DS, and device/terminal management.
