About the Role
Do you love Funchal and enjoy sharing its history, culture, and hidden gems with travelers from around the world?
Guydeez is looking for enthusiastic locals to lead private, personalized walking tours for small groups. This opportunity is ideal for people who enjoy meeting international visitors and creating authentic experiences.
No professional guide license is required. We value local knowledge, communication skills, and a passion for showcasing Funchal.
What You’ll Do
- Lead private walking tours (3–8 hours) through Funchal's neighborhoods, landmarks, and points of interest
- Share engaging stories about local culture, history, traditions, and daily life
- Adapt each experience according to guests' interests and preferences
- Recommend local attractions, restaurants, viewpoints, and cultural experiences
- Create a welcoming, enjoyable, and memorable experience for visitors
- Optionally host food-focused experiences for guests interested in local gastronomy
Who We’re Looking For
- Based in Funchal or very familiar with the city
- Strong knowledge of Funchal's history, culture, and attractions
- Fluent in at least one of the following languages: Portuguese, English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, or Chinese
- Friendly, engaging, and confident when interacting with international visitors
- Comfortable leading walking experiences lasting 3–8 hours
- Passion for gastronomy, culture, or storytelling is a plus
- Previous hospitality, tourism, or guiding experience is helpful but not required
