With a growing client base, we are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Corporate Accountant to join our team in Porto. This is a unique opportunity to thrive in an international, fast-paced environment while enhancing your professional skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for corporate clients, building strong, lasting relationships.
- Answer client tax queries with clear, accurate, and timely advice.
- Prepare and provide reports to clients as required.
- Submit tax obligations on behalf of clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Process client expenses based on the invoices and receipts received.
- Maintain client tax compliance across all relevant jurisdictions.
- Advise clients on upcoming tax deadlines and the actions they need to take.
- Apply expert knowledge in specialist areas, including:
- Tax rates applicable to island jurisdictions.
- Double taxation treaties and their implications.
- Researching and presenting tax-specific information in a way clients can easily understand.
- Liaise with tax authorities on behalf of clients to resolve queries and obligations.
- Oversee specific tasks delegated to the Admin & Payroll team, ensuring quality and consistency.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:
- Qualifications
- Certificado Nivel Secundario de Educação or equivalent (European qualifications framework for lifelong learning (EQF) – Level 4 or higher)
- Skills
- Proactive Attitude – Eager to learn, take initiative, and tackle tasks with a positive mindset.
- Organisational Skills – Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced work environment.
- Relationship Building – Capable of establishing strong professional relationships with clients, team members, and associates.
- Communication Skills – Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, in Portuguese and English.
- Attention to Detail – Meticulous and methodical approach to work with a focus on accuracy.
- MS Suite & Technology - Exceptional experience with MS Outlook, MS Excel, Zoom, Accounting Software (not mandatory) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software
Position Details
- Location: Porto, Portugal
- Hours: Full-time, 9am - 6pm, Monday to Friday
