Located on the top floor of Andaz Lisbon, Luzzi is inspired by modern Lusitanian cuisine (from which its name derives), a concept reflected not only in the menu, but also in its cocktails, colors, décor, and music. We are looking for a talented, passionate, and driven Senior Sous Chef to join the team at Luzzi.
About the role
As Senior Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef Specialty and Director of Culinary in leading the Luzzi kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, creativity, and consistency. You will play a key role in delivering an exceptional culinary experience that reflects the identity and gastronomy philosophy of Luzzi brand.
You will also contribute to fostering a positive, collaborative kitchen culture and developing a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support Luzzi Culinary Operations. Align with the Head Chef Specialty Restaurant and Director of Culinary in the overall management of the Luzzi kitchen operations- Supervise and coordinate daily Luzzi kitchen activities to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Lead, train, and motivate the Luzzi kitchen team (Chef de Partie and Commis Chefs)
- Assist in menu development, recipe creation, and seasonal offerings aligned with the Luzzi concept
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP)
- Monitor inventory, food costs, and labour costs to support budget targets
- Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and guest satisfaction
- Act as a role model, promoting teamwork, communication, and a positive work environment
