- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, developers, and other teams to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Design, implement, and continuously evolve Infrastructure as Code solutions.
- Automate infrastructure and system provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks using Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, and scripting.
- Develop reusable modules, automation, and golden paths that enable development teams to provision and consume infrastructure through self-service mechanisms.
- Continuously improve the infrastructure platform, reducing manual processes, operational toil, and technical debt.
- Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and automation to support infrastructure and application delivery.
- Manage and evolve our Azure cloud infrastructure and services, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Contribute to the management and evolution of our Kubernetes / AKS environment as part of the wider infrastructure platform.
- Design, develop, and implement new platform capabilities that improve quality, reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
- Promote Cloud Native, DevOps, SRE, and Infrastructure as Code best practices across teams.
- Maintain cost efficiency and promote FinOps principles across infrastructure and cloud platforms.
- Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve complex infrastructure and platform incidents, ensuring root causes are addressed and recurrence is avoided.
- Implement code review, testing, validation, and quality mechanisms for infrastructure and automation code.
- Promote a culture where infrastructure and operational processes are managed through version-controlled code rather than manual provisioning and administration.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, including reusable modules, state management, and infrastructure automation.
- Ability to design reusable infrastructure, automation, and platform capabilities, with a strong focus on standardisation and self-service.
- Knowledge of configuration management and automation, preferably Ansible.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of GitLab and GitLab CI/CD, including pipeline development and automation.
- Background in public cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
- Good knowledge of Kubernetes and containerisation.
- Familiarity with GitOps methodologies, preferably Argo CD.
- Ability to develop automation using Python, Bash, or similar scripting/programming languages.
- Good understanding of DevOps, Cloud Native, and SRE principles.
- Knowledge of code repositories, code reviews, and automated testing practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and autonomous mindset.
- Fluency in English (mandatory).
Additional Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes / AKS and the wider CNCF ecosystem.
- Familiarity with Observability, including monitoring, logging, and tracing.
- Knowledge of developer self-service and automation, particularly using Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, JSM).
- Good knowledge of Linux administration and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of FinOps and cloud cost optimisation.
- Familiarity with development platforms and internal developer tooling.
- Exposure to Agile ways of working, particularly Kanban.
- Curiosity and motivation to learn new technologies and processes.
