- Our restaurant , Pabul is the only traditional Korean restaurant in Portugal. We will only be hiring two candidate who are fluent in both Portuguese and English. This could be a great opportunity for those who enjoy Korean food or culture. Cook job description
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals, individual dishes, and special dietary meals as instructed by dietitians or chefs.
- Kitchen Management: Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers, and oversee day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Inventory Control: Monitor, order, and maintain records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Menu & Portion Control: Plan menus, determine portion sizes, and estimate food requirements and costs.
- Sanitation: Set up and oversee buffets, and clean the kitchen and work area.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Completion of secondary school is usually required.
- Training: Completion of a 3-year apprenticeship program, or a college/vocational program in cooking or food safety.
- Experience: Several years of commercial cooking experience may be required in lieu of formal training.
- Certification: Trade certification is voluntary in most provinces, although a Red Seal endorsement is available for qualified cooks.
Key Skills & Physical Demands
- Motor & Manual Skills: Strong manual dexterity to slice meat, mix ingredients, and decorate food, combined with excellent motor coordination.
- Physical Demands: Requires continuous standing, repetitive movements, and the ability to walk and handle materials in a fast-paced environment.
