About EUROMAR
EUROMAR is the exclusive commercial and service partner of MAR, the Madeira Ship Registry: an EU, onshore and whitelisted flag (Paris and Tokyo MoU). We sit between shipowners, ship managers, and the Portuguese authorities as a trusted partner, pairing the advantages of an EU flag with a straightforward, digital registration process and 24/7 maritime support.
MAR-ADAPT is our applied research project, funded under Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), developing an adaptive software architecture for flag-state administration. This is a fixed-term role for the duration of the project (approx. 18 months).
The role
As R&D Project Coordinator, you make sure MAR-ADAPT delivers: you plan and coordinate the work across the project, keep quality and risk in check, and handle the reporting to the funding authority so the research lands on time and to scope. You won’t lead the science yourself — that sits with the research and technical leads — but you keep the whole thing moving.
What you’ll do
- Run the project day-to-day: planning, meetings, and milestone reviews across the work packages.
- Track progress and milestones, and report to the funding authority as per reporting requirments in co-ordination with CDO and management.
- Keep quality and risk under control, and maintain the evidence and records the grant needs.
- Share the project’s results with maritime-industry stakeholders.
What you bring
- Experience coordinating funded R&D or complex, multi-stakeholder projects
- A firm hand on scope, timelines, budget and reporting.
- A clear writer who is comfortable dealing with a funding authority.
- Fluent English; Portuguese is a real plus for the funder interface.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with grant compliance (eligible effort, timesheets, audit trail).
- A feel for the maritime or flag-state world — a plus, not a must.
What we offer
- A real say in how EUROMAR goes digital
- A small, international team and short decision paths
- Flexible/hybrid working
- A budget for learning and development
- Lisbon
