We're looking for a Solution Architect – Corporate Banking to join our team in Portugal in a remote working mode. This senior role focuses on designing and governing end-to-end architectural solutions for core corporate banking areas, including Customer Onboarding, Servicing and Corporate Product Sales for large enterprises in domains like Invoice Financing, Supplier Financing, Trade Finance, Cashflow Management and Specialized Lending. The position requires strong architectural design expertise, an ability to balance strategic roadmaps with pragmatic solutions, and close collaboration with business and technology stakeholders to drive large-scale transformations within regulated financial environments.
Responsibilities

Define end-to-end solution architecture covering functional and technical aspects for corporate banking services
- Produce clear functional architectures, logical components and system interactions aligned to enterprise governance and strategy frameworks
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable architecture roadmaps while balancing short-term outcomes with long-term goals
- Govern technical design principles and conduct peer reviews to ensure compliance and architectural integrity
- Support decommissioning and archival initiatives to simplify and optimize the banking application landscape
- Collaborate with engineering teams to align solutions with published standards and facilitate delivery execution
- Provide architectural oversight and thought leadership during transformation programs and pre-design workshops
- Communicate architectural solutions to stakeholders at all levels, simplifying complex concepts for business leadership
Requirements

Significant experience as a Solution Architect within large-scale, complex financial services environments
- Proven ability to design and document clear, functional architectures and integration models
- Experience balancing business priorities with long-term architectural strategies and system simplification
- Strong grounding in architecture governance processes and ability to enforce compliance
- Demonstrated capability to work in fast-moving environments with proactive delivery focus
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and executive communication skills
Nice to have

Familiarity with BIAN, TOGAF, ArchiMate or C4 architecture methodologies
- Understanding of microservices, API integration patterns and cloud environments (e.g., AWS)
- Experience defining As-Is and Target Architectures and producing domain roadmaps
- Exposure to global banking environments and major transformation programs
- Hands-on experience with architecture tools like Avolution Abacus
