CONTEXT
We are looking for a VBA & Access Developer to join an international IT team in Lisbon.
This role is focused on the development, maintenance, and evolution of office automation applications, supporting business teams through tailor-made solutions and local applications. The professional will contribute across the full lifecycle of these solutions, from needs analysis and pre-studies to design, development, testing, maintenance, and technical support.
The role is also connected to initiatives aimed at improving and securing the application landscape, particularly in the context of shadow IT remediation and the standardization of local tools and processes.
MAIN MISSION
To design, develop, maintain, and improve office automation applications and local IT solutions, ensuring they are reliable, efficient, aligned with technical standards, and adapted to business needs.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the analysis of business needs and challenge requirements before the launch of developments
- Carry out pre-studies and contribute to the design of application solutions
- Validate workload estimations and contribute to planning activities
- Develop and maintain applications using MS Access and VBA, ensuring quality, reliability, and alignment with expected deadlines and costs
- Create and maintain forms, macros, and custom features within office automation tools
- Perform technical, functional, and non-regression testing
- Provide technical support to users and internal teams regarding application behavior, technical constraints, and possible evolutions
- Contribute to continuous improvement by proposing technical enhancements and practical improvements
- Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer within the scope of applications under responsibility
- Support initiatives related to the remediation of IT risks linked to shadow IT and the rationalization of local applications
PROFILE & SKILLS
- At least 4 years of experience in IT Development, ideally with strong exposure to office automation or local business applications
- Strong hands-on experience with MS Access and VBA development
- Ability to work across both technical and functional aspects of a solution
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and synthesis skills
- Ability to facilitate discussions, workshops, and meetings with stakeholders
- Comfortable working in dynamic and transversal environments, on sensitive and business-critical topics
- Proactive mindset, responsiveness, and ability to suggest improvements
- Fluency in French (B2/C1) is mandatory
- English is a plus
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- MS Access (including forms creation and maintenance)
- VBA / Visual Basic for Applications
- SQL
- MS SQL Server
- Analysis and technical-functional design
- Functional testing / non-regression testing
- PHP / MySQL is a plus
- Power Apps is a plus
- Power BI is a plus
- Functional specifications design is a plus
