We are seeking a full-stack engineer with a solid emphasis on backend engineering, motivated to discover new technologies and creative solutions within the internal platforms of a financial institution. As part of your role, you will be responsible for:
Backend development in Java (Spring Boot).
Architectural design leveraging AWS and microservices.
Frontend engineering tasks, when needed.
Contributing to delivery through agile frameworks, across sprints and aligned with the Product Owner and team backlog.
Releasing software through DevOps principles and CI/CD workflows.
What are we looking for?
At least 5 years of practical experience in Java engineering, with strong command of recent Java versions and deep expertise in Spring Boot.
Solid understanding of AWS, microservices architecture, and software design patterns.
Solid understanding of containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Background in frontend frameworks such as React.js or Angular is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with Node.js and PostgreSQL is a plus.
Strong awareness of security standards related to APIs and data protection.
Hands-on knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and a drive to champion agile ways of working within the team.
Ease with DevOps workflows covering configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, Gitflow, Infrastructure as Code, and deployment strategies, among others.
Proficiency in English (B2 or above) is mandatory.
Willingness to work on-site two days per week, in Lisbon or Porto.
