We are looking for an experienced Mainframe DBA (DB2 for z/OS) to join a high‑impact project in a mission‑critical environment.
Location: Lisbon, Portugal (Hybrid)
Work Eligibility: Candidate must be currently based in Portugal
Language Requirement: English level B2 or higher
Key Responsibilities
- Daily administration and maintenance of DB2 for z/OS databases
- Execution and monitoring of DB2 utilities (RUNSTATS, REORG, LOAD, UNLOAD, RECOVER)
- Performance analysis and tuning for CICS transactions and batch processes
- Management of tablespaces, indexes, buffer pools, storage groups, and physical database structures
- Support development teams with SQL optimization, access path analysis, and resource consumption
- Monitoring and troubleshooting using tools such as Omegamon, Mainview, or Query Monitor
- Participation in version upgrades, migrations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensuring database availability, stability, and security in a high‑availability environment
Requirements
- Proven experience as a DBA DB2 for z/OS
- Solid knowledge of JCL, TSO/ISPF, CICS, and mainframe fundamentals
- Strong understanding of performance tuning and SQL optimization
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and functional teams
- English proficiency at B2 level or above
- Must be living in Portugal and able to work in a hybrid model in Lisbon
